A Practical Guide to Benchmarking in Higher Education
The handbook produced in the framework ofthe project is a practical guide for decision-makers and staff in higher education institutions willing to initiate or further develop their benchmarking activities. Its first section provides a background of the history of benchmarking and the concepts and practices of benchmarking set in the context of quality improvement in higher education. The handbook then offers a step by step approach, practical guidelines and examples of benchmarking in higher education.
The online bibliography
The online bibliography currently has references to more than 150 publications on benchmarking concepts, approaches and practices. It allows for searches by keywords. The online bibliography was built from extensive desk research. It is updated on a regular basis to provide policy-makers, decision-makers and researchers in higher education with an extensive database for information on benchmarking in higher education.
